General
What is tools.com?

The tools.com network is an Australian based eCommerce platform specialising in the tools, automotive and safety equipment industries.

Where is tools.com based?

Our head office is located in Melbourne, we also have support offices located around Australia and internationally.

How does tools.com differ from other online retailers?

Our business specialises in the tools, automotive, outdoor leisure and safety equipment categories only which has allowed us to become experts in this field. As a curated platform, we only allow sellers that have high-quality products that complement our current range. We offer extensive support with onboarding rather than leaving vendors to solve their own technical and data challenges. Vendors also receive personalised support with optimising listing, customer service and promotional opportunities.

What is a curated marketplace?

Rather than being open to all vendors to sign up and start selling, tools.com only allows vendors that meet our requirements around product range, quality and can meet our customer's expectations in relation to dispatch and delivery timeframes.

Is there a lock-in contract?

There is no lock-in contract period if you decide to stop selling with us at any point in time. All that we ask is that you honour any orders that are still yet to be dispatched and any returns/warranty claims made within reasonable timeframes.

What are the integration options available?

We currently offer vendors the following methods for connecting to our platform. *Manual - Upload products via a CSV template or create them via the marketplace dashboard. All orders will appear here and vendors can keep track of payments, requests and upcoming promotional activities. *eCommerce Add-on - Available to immediately install for Maropost (Neto), Shopify, Bigcommerce and Woocommerce. *API - Vendors will need a high level of technical knowledge or the assistance of a developer to create a connection using the documentation provided.

Can tools.com hold stock and dispatch orders?

No, tools.com is a digital business and does not offer warehousing or fulfilment services.

What do I need to include with orders?

There are no specific requirements around packaging or tools.com orders, however, we do ask that you do not include any marketing materials, invoices showing payment totals or your business contact details. This is done so that the customer has to contact us directly if they have a question relating to their purchase as opposed to them contacting the vendor.

When do I get paid?

Invoices that ship each month if you are a commission vendor will be paid on a monthly cycle and allowing at least 14 days after shipment for arrival of goods.
Wholesale vendors are EOM 30 days.

How will tools.com help grow my business?

The tools.com team will support your business all the way from onboarding to tracking your success in sales events. If you arent successful then neither are we. You can chat to the team directly, submit products to promotional events and create reports all via your personalised dashboard.
